In Matthew 25: 37-39 [ESV], on the topic of inheriting the kingdom, it says “37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ With these important and meaningful statements from Jesus, we need to provide and emphasize these opportunities for our Trinity community.
Paul says in Romans 6: 1-4 [ESV], “6 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” With our purpose to grow as disciples of Jesus, and make disciples, we need to give opportunities throughout the year for individuals to walk in newness of life.
According to the book Simple Church, ministries of the church should be linked together in a simple process. Christian community and living, by emphasizing such opportunities and small groups (community groups and bible studies and elder/matron groups) is our simple process. Below is a look-up table to help us all live out our faith through witness, acts of mercy and life together, and each year the table can be re-visited; it is not meant to be an exhaustive list. Special attention will be given each quarter to the ministries in the table.
